Zanj Community Guidelines

By creating a Zanj account, activating your profile and joining the community you are considered to be in agreement with the terms and conditions listed below.

Your online and physical safety matters to us. We believe in reciprocity and as such, we require that you refrain from endangering or threatening anyone, be it a member of the Zanj team, fellow travellers or any of our partners. We’ll do the same for you.

  • Harming others

You must not commit any physical or sexual assault, sexual abuse, sexual harassment, domestic violence, robbery, human trafficking, other acts of violence, or hold anyone against their will. Members of dangerous organisations, including terrorist, organized criminal, and violent racist groups, are not welcome in the Zanj community. Zanj is committed to working with law enforcement as appropriate and responding to valid law enforcement requests in all the countries in which we and/or our partners operate.

  • Creating dangerous situations

You should not keep unsecured weapons, disease risks, or dangerous animals on your person, in transportation or in residences. You should not create conditions that increase the likelihood of a fire or impede escape in the event of emergency.

The Zanj community caters to travellers from all walks of life and as such, will not tolerate any unfair discrimination based on numerous grounds including but not limited to including race, gender, sex, pregnancy, marital status, ethnic or social origin, colour, sexual orientation, age, disability, religion, conscience, belief, culture, language and birth.

We will take action when we see someone violating these guidelines. Sometimes that just means giving someone a warning; other times it means revoking certain privileges or accounts entirely, regardless of whether an experience has already commenced. We request that all community members report behavior that violates our guidelines to info@zanj.co.za
